Satin process creates a worn leathered surface with a square edge

Commercial and domestic projects

External paving and internal flooring

Foreland Grey is a warm grey limestone with some shade variation; numerous small dark fossils, white crystalline patches and occasional warm veins. The satin finishing process provides a worn leathered surface with a square edge; producing a unique stone with good slip resistance and is easily maintained. Foreland Grey is a hard-wearing stone that can be used in commercial and residential projects. With low porosity and good frost resistance, Foreland Grey can be used to create a seamless transition when used inside and out and is suitable for use with under-floor heating. Foreland Grey is quarried in Upper Egypt, where the local stone has been used in the construction of buildings for centuries including the Ancient Palace of Malkata, which has been dated back to the 16th Century BC.
